Our Christmas Campaign is out!<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

For this year’s Christmas campaign, we decided to take a trip down 2025’s memory lane with… a calendar! Two wonderful volunteers, Noame Toumiat and Harry Forster, came equipped with cameras to document daily life at the centre, and we thought these photos deserved to be printed.
This calendar is also an opportunity to highlight the services available at our community centre. From our long-established dinners to our free clothing shop, classes, and the newly opened women’s space, we try to provide services that meet the needs of the community we support.

Challenge<\/h4>

Currently living in and around Ioannina, Greece in the three refugee camps Agia Eleni, Filippiada and Katsikas are 2,000 residents with refugee experience. Few people have a positive asylum decision, which entitles them to reside and live in Greece. Most of them are still in the asylum process, or have a negative asylum decision and thus live in Greece without documents. This leaves many people in vulnerable positions and without access to basic services, provisions or support.<\/p>

Solution<\/h4>

This project works within our mission to contribute to a peaceful, solidary and mutually inclusive society. BAAS is committed to sharing resources and knowledge across cultural boundaries, prejudice and material inequalities. Our services both provide the means for people to take away new life long skills, while providing basic necessities to support a dignified life at that present moment.<\/p>

Long-Term Impact<\/h4>

As an organisation, we aim to fill the gaps within people’s basic needs through the provision of material support, social activities and learning opportunities. Our atelier and creative supplies create space for practical use and creativity. Our washing machines and showers allow access to basic hygiene services. Our free clothing shop provides a dignified experience for people to choose the items they want and need.
