We are hiring! We are looking for a new fundraising and project co-coordinator

We are seeking a committed Co-Coordinator for our activities in Ioannina, Greece. The role will be to take the organization forward by driving and expanding fundraising efforts and supporting the day to day running of our Community Center. In addition to fundraising activities, the role also involves taking responsibility for project activities together with the project coordinators and managing the volunteer team.

Current need for volunteers

We are looking for volunteers for our Community Centre in Ioannina, Greece! If you are interested, please contact us (recruitment@beawareandshare.ch). Write something about yourself and send us your CV.

Desired Requirements: 

  • Enthusiasm to get involved in social activities.
  • A person who enjoys working with other people, is empathetic and reacts in an appropriate manner to people’s needs.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team, takes initiative and gets involved.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Good command of English. Other languages, including French, Greek, Arabic, Farsi/ Dari, Kurdish are useful in the project.
  • Minimum full time commitment of 6 weeks.
  • Desirably 23 years old or above.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Community Centre.
  • Running and restocking of the Free Clothes Shop.
  • Organising and/or partaking in social activities (arts and crafts, kids activities, women’s spaces, sports, games and more).
  • Monitoring and assisting in the Creative Atelier.
  • Leading language and computer classes.

Volunteering with BAAS offers the opportunity to:

BAAS provides accommodation. Living and travel expenses will have to be covered by volunteers themselves.

Join our Fundraising Working Group! Volunteer remotely and support BAAS through joining our Fundraising team! Become a part of our organisation and offer your time to seeking funding through a range of avenues, keeping our organisation and amazing project in Ioannina, running

Duties/Involvement:

  • Thinking outside the box and being creative as to different avenues for funding.
  • Creating crowdfunding campaigns and content with our PR team.
  • Supporting with writing grant applications; campaign content; maintaining donor relations and reaching out to potential donors.
  • Analysing and predicting donor trends.
  • Researching new potential donors or funding.
  • Contribute to meaningful discussions as to why and how we portray our context, projects and services to the public.
  • Support in developing and enacting the fundraising strategy.
  • Work alongside our Fundraising Coordinator(s) based in Ioannina and other remote working group members.

If German speaking or based in Switzerland:

  • Helping to write German applications or translating.
  • Work within Switzerland to utilise the vast network of foundations and funding avenues/sources.

Requirements:

  • Able to offer at least 2 hours p/week
  • Good command in written and verbal English (German or Greek desired).
  • Knowledge of the local context, refugee rights and the fundraising market desired. (Alternatively, willingness to learn or visit the project).
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Enthusiasm to get involved and partake in required tasks.
  • Attend the Working Group Assembly Meeting every 2 weeks (Wednesday 8pm CET)
